Tim Rayburn Resigns Following Drunk Driving Arrest

Black Mountain Vice Mayor and Alderman Tim Rayburn has resigned after police say he was drunk and driving a public vehicle at nearly four times the legal blood-alcohol limit.

The Black Mountain Board of Aldermen held a special called meeting Tuesday, where they heard Rayburn’s official resignation letter and discussed a replacement. Rayburn is also chief of the Enka Candler Fire Department and former Black Mountain Fire Chief.
